For heaven's sake police and fire departments across the country have been hitting trauma head on, so to speak, for many years. I trained in it back in 2008. The military is the last to learn.
The biggest issue I have is the FUBAR "resilience" training that has not worked and realistically caused more damage than doing nothing.
Last year I wrote about all of this in The Warrior Saw, Suicides After War because families I've been helping were tired of burying sons and daughters they thought were safe.
Even I was stunned putting it all together and how many experts said this training was worse than BS.
We spend billions every year on it when suicides and attempted suicides go up in the military and among veterans.
Frankly advocates are on our own because the press isn't interested in discovering what is behind all of this. No one is held accountable.Kathie Costoshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05930848909252282916noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4742487410373715914.post-31087437696631252662013-07-21T21:29:16.468-04:002013-07-21T21:29:16.468-04:00Thanks for saying what you said. This fact has been proven clearly recently through a myriad of public information efforts which when subjected to deep scrutiny, fall into the "big lie" arena.

Now, when information is unfavorable -- record-setting suicide numbers, for example -- the tactic used by those charged the duty of obtaining, maintaining and releasing such information to the public use what can be described as the "3-D" approach ... Delay, Deny, Distract.

Really sad, that the institution that sends young men and women to fight and die in the name of democracy does not practice it by example.

What a shame, what a shame.

TMSRAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
