Surveillance video captured a gunman pulling a 72-year-old disabled veteran out of his vehicle, hopping into the vehicle and driving away Thursday night.

Sanford police found the stolen car but they are still searching for the two men seen in the video.

They got away with his wallet, cellphone, walker cane, oxygen tank and medication, police said.

"As a veteran, I am outraged by the conduct of the individuals in the surveillance video," Sanford Police Chief Cecil Smith said in a statement. "We are asking for assistance from the community to bring these individuals to justice as soon as possible as this matter is of great important."

About 8 p.m. Thursday, the veteran was heading to the store to buy some bread when a man walked up to his car in the 100 block of Country Club Circle — near the Goldsboro Elementary Magnet School.

SHIAWASSEE COUNTY, MI -- A man facing charges stemming from a carjacking and attempted abduction in March is a Marine veteran who suffered from post traumatic stress disorder, his attorney says.

A video The Flint Journal obtained from Michigan State Police through the Freedom of Information Act shows the police chase that ensued, and the man's arrest after police dragged him out of a car window.

Events began to unfold when a woman called 911 saying her son was suicidal, highly intoxicated and suffering from PTSD, according to Michigan State Police Lt. David Kaiser.

The call put local police on the lookout for Michael Siminski, a 30-year-old Marine veteran from Owosso driving a white Chevrolet pickup truck.

ATLANTA — A local veteran, who just returned home from war, is now dodging gunfire in his own neighborhood.

Jonathan Knight has been shot at before. The veteran spent five and a half years in the military. But he never thought he'd put that training to use while sitting in his car behind the building where he works in northwest Atlanta.

Knight says he wasn't willing to let his brand new Ford Mustang go without a fight.

He says he was sitting in his car listening to music around 6 p.m. Sunday when two men in a blue Jeep Grand Cherokee approached.

“The driver asked me for directions. So I attempted to tell him and he pretended not to hear me, so he pulled up right next to me, very close. I could tell he was trying to block me off,” said Knight.

A World War II veteran was forced to drag himself from a gas station pump to the check out after a carjacker broke his leg - while people walked past.

Mr Brantley, who was driving home after bible study, was knocked to the ground by a man who then stole his vehicle, leaving him writhing in pain.

Surveillance footage captures the elderly man's failed attempts to stand. For two minutes, he is seen dragging himself across the forecourt.

As he nears the gas station, cars come and go but drivers fail to get out to assist the struggling man. At least four people are captured walking past.

SARASOTA - Delvis Fernandez served eight months with the Marine Reserves in Iraq, often manning a 50-caliber gun on the lead car in dangerous supply convoys.

The 2005 Booker High School graduate returned home to Sarasota in April, where he rejoined his minor league football team and enrolled in classes to prepare for a career in the Sarasota Police Department.

But on his way home from class Friday afternoon, Fernandez, 21, was shot and killed in what police believe was a carjacking in the parking lot of a Newtown convenience store.

"It was in broad daylight for no apparent reason," said Orlando Pacheco, who roomed with Fernandez in Iraq. "We're just in shock right now. It was just like any other day."

Fernandez died at Sarasota Memorial Hospital on Friday, the day before the final tryouts for the Sarasota Millionaires, a football team that he also used as a conduit to to volunteer in the community.
